Coronavirus Precautions and Information

Dear Family, Friends, Volunteers, and Healthcare Professionals,

As the current state of the COVID-19 (CoronaVirus) is getting closer to impacting us in Orange County, we are taking next level precautions and continue to implement further protocols and policies to protect your loved ones the best we can. After careful consideration of warnings issued by the CDC, the Health Department, and other government agencies, we are taking these steps to protect our residents further. We understand how difficult this will be for you; however, we appreciate your understanding and compliance with what we are trying to do to protect our residents (your loved ones).

At this time, we request that family and friends do not visit Rosehaven. Out of an abundance of caution, we are limiting all visitors to our facility unless necessary.

Rosehaven understands the importance of your visits and how these protocols may impact you; however, we must do everything we can to mitigate the potential of the virus spreading to our very vulnerable population we serve.

This is a snapshot of some of the protocols we have instituted:

1) Additional sanitizing throughout our facility

2) Additional staff training on universal precautions, etc.

3) Canceled all outside activities coming into Rosehaven

4) Canceled all bath aides for our hospice residents. Our staff will handle bathing for all residents at this time

5) Canceled volunteers, chaplains, social workers, and all other non-essential visitors

6) Canceled all visitors, including family and all loved ones. I understand this will be the toughest one on you, our families, and loved ones.

7) All deliveries to be accepted outside by staff wearing gloves

8) No activities for our residents outside the Rosehaven to public areas.

9) Persons planning to take their loved ones out of the Rosehaven to travel must quarantine those traveling with our resident and our resident for a minimum of 14 days before being permitted to re-admittance back to Rosehaven. I’m certain you’ve seen how many public events, venues, etc. have canceled these operations throughout California.

We will continue to update you on any additional protocols that become necessary. We will update you on your loved ones. Please reach out to me with any questions/concerns you have or simply to check in on your loved one. Please let me know how you wish to communicate with your loved one during this time, or if you prefer to just have telecommunication with me for updates regarding your loved one.

Please understand this is a difficult decision to make; however, it is necessary due to our residents’ already compromised health conditions. I’ve attached the guidelines from March 11, 2020, from the California Public Health Department regarding gathering guides to help you understand many of the reasons Rosehaven feels the need to implement these next level precautions at this time.

Rosehaven sincerely appreciates your understanding and compliance with these protocols.

Sincerely,

Tina Le Shalaby
